Here's what we've been up to - real projects, real clients, real challenges. Each one taught us something new about making buildings that actually work for people and the planet.
Residential
West Coast Passive House
This one's our pride and joy - a net-zero home in North Van that barely uses any heating. The clients were skeptical at first, but now they're basically living for free energy-wise.
Commercial
False Creek Innovation Hub
A 6-story tech office that ended up being LEED Platinum certified. We fought hard to keep those floor-to-ceiling windows while maintaining thermal efficiency - totally worth the engineering headaches.
Heritage
Gastown Heritage Conversion
Turning a 1912 warehouse into modern lofts without losing its soul was tricky. Had to work closely with heritage folks, but we managed to sneak in geothermal heating under their radar.
Residential
Dunbar Family Residence
A young family needed space for three kids and two home offices. We carved out private zones without making it feel chopped up. The rainwater collection system waters their whole garden now.
Commercial
Kitsilano Mixed-Use Development
Retail on the ground, offices above, and residential on top floors. The city council gave us grief about height, but we proved the density made sense for transit access.
Urban Planning
Olympic Village Plaza Redesign
Community-driven project where we actually listened to residents instead of imposing what we thought was cool. Added seating people wanted, not just what looked good in renderings.
Residential
Whistler Mountain Retreat
Working with that mountain terrain was intense. We cantilevered parts of the structure to minimize site disruption, and the views? Absolutely killer. Heated floors throughout because, well, it's Whistler.
Heritage
Strathcona Church Adaptive Reuse
Turning a decommissioned church into a community arts center. Kept all the original stained glass and woodwork while making it accessible and energy-efficient. Labor of love, honestly.
Commercial
Yaletown Boutique Hotel
32 rooms with local materials throughout - BC fir, slate from up north. The rooftop bar wasn't in the original plan, but we convinced the developer and now it's the hotel's biggest draw.
Urban Planning
Burrard Street Corridor Study
Policy work isn't glamorous, but someone's gotta do it. We helped reshape how the city thinks about pedestrian-first design along one of its busiest corridors.
Residential
Laneway Housing Prototype
Built this as a model for what you can do with Vancouver's laneway program. 650 square feet that doesn't feel cramped. Natural light from three sides makes all the difference.
Heritage
Chinatown Heritage Building
This 1920s building was falling apart. We saved the facade and rebuilt everything behind it. Seismic upgrades were mandatory, which actually gave us a chance to reconfigure the interior properly.
Got a project in mind? We're always up for a challenge.
